      EXPERTS ARE SAYING
Take the Tucson on a twisty mountain road and it feels confident and sure-footed. Body roll is kept under control, and midcorner bumps have little effect on its composure. -Edmunds.com.

Great car until road trip/OIL ISSUES

by Brooke on 3/1/2026 7:55:40 PM

Unfortunately the reviews about high oil consumption/engine failure are true. I LOVE my 2018 Tucson but after a road trip I didn’t check the oil (although I kept up with changes and had one before road trip), it ended up burning oil and now I have camshaft timing chain/engine issues …$3,500plus estimate to repair. 131k miles I don’t think I’m going to fix it. I’m heartbroken. Second Hyundai and am just mad at myself for not checking the oil on the 6 hour road trip. I didn’t know about oil issues before this happened. No lights came on indicating low oil. If I had only checked the oil. So upset.…
